Doesn't give much faith in ones product!!! In all fairness to them, they told me to send it in and they would check it, then go from there. Well, if they sent me a bad radio, (if it truely IS bad) and I was told it was fine, I'm going to be even MORE upset. Does that sound like potentiometer problems? Horizon and Hobby Lobby both basically told me that I'm out a plane, as they won't cover collateral damage. When I was told to check for the date code, I found that I had 809E. Range check looked good before flight, and I was told by Hobby Lobby tech that my radio was fine as they didn't send out any of the bad ones. When it hit the ground slightly nose up, I then had TWO fuselages, bent retracts that were ripped out, and a real mess. Wings stay level dispite the rocking as mentioned before. I STILL don't know if I really had any control at that point. All I could do was chop power and parachute in. Same thing as before, only got much further out before it somehow got turned around to head back. Then, nothing. When I turned right to get back on downwind to land immediately, it went right 180 degrees and headed away again. Then, I was able to get it to come back my way. Started turning right on it's own, and it was almost like it unbound. On the downwind leg, right after takeoff and while trimming down, I noticed wing rocking. Now I see that Spektrum has posted a “Stick Pot Service Bulletinâ€, I hope I don’t have this problem – I have 6 models programmed into this thing and I don’t like the idea of shipping it off, waiting who knows how long, and then getting it back without my programming.Ĭan someone explain to me in Lehman terms what this recall is about? I know it's potentiometers, but what exactly should I see? I was flying a Banana Hobby F-18 on it's maiden flight last week or so. I guess that the input voltage was too high when the ESC was first engaged and it did not start as a safety precaution. Then the ESC started to work and the prop turned! I then went to the Travel Adjust menu and changed the Down Throttle adjustment to as far as it would go (125%). I noticed that when the stick was at 0 the monitor was showing close to 20%. Then I went to monitor the stick positions (with the Monitor Mode in the Setup menus) just to see if I was sending a throttle signal out to the ESC. I tried resetting the transmitter and the ESC in different combinations with no result. The servos worked fine but the throttle would not work at all. I’m not sure if this will help but I discovered a similar problem last night when I first powered an indoor system with a 10 amp ESC. You'll have to let us know what the solution turns out to be? I've not heard about, nor read on any of the forums I visit anything like what you're describing.
There is always the possibility that you have a problem tx, but I never experienced the problem you have and that Allans seems to have as well. Sometimes having someone on the phone while you try things with your radio will be a quicker more productive method of trouble shooting the problem. I think perhaps the best solution might be for you to call the tech support folks covering your area, sorry I don't know who does the importing for Spektrum over in France. Well I sold my DX6i so I can't go try it out for you. When I try to use the exponential function (positive exponential or negative exponential) the travel of the servos decrease !!!!ĭoes anybody of you has the same "bug" ? Is is normal ? If that doesn't work, I suggest you get a hold of the folks you bought the radio from about who provides tech support/service for the radio in your area and contact them for further assistance. Usually when I have an issue setting up a model it turns out to be something I've done that was wrong and starting over will often times be the solution.
Are you sure that when setting the expo you aren't doing a rate decrease instead of setting the expo? Most ESC's will require a full 100% throttle servo travel setting to arm and occasionally you'll need the throttle trim pulled all the way down so you might try that. While it was mentioned I'll be a bit more specific on the expo please remember that JR uses a positive (+) number for expo where say Futaba uses a minus (-) for that function. It only affects the selected slot so don't worry about losing stuff.
As the manual mentions, the first thing you want to do when setting up a new model is to performa re-set on that particular model memory slot. I would suggest that you do as already suggested and try another memory slot setup. Now I can't swear there's no bug, but I really think you're having some setup issues with the possibility that you have a bad tx.
Don't you think that if there was a software issue it would have shown up before now?
